Tears here. Bee, your writing is and always has been a way marker and inspiration. You give voice to a depth, intensity and passion that empowers, soothes and guides so many. I may be a wraith in the mists these days, but I treasure the posts you share, the insight and knowledge you bring through commitment and faith. I am moved deeply by this blog and am grateful for the reminders, the interpretation and the wild christ that speaks volumes to the druidry I hold close to my own heart. Thank you. It's a pleasure and a much needed pause for thought to read your writing🫂
Thank you so much, dear Jo. Such a beautiful, encouraging, and humbling comment. I shall try in this Advent journey to be equal to this beauty you share 🕯🕯🕯
Jacqueline, your writing offers a waymarker in the trackless wastes of horror and despair we are currently in. I so often think ‘what can I possibly do? My tiny actions are meaningless.’ But I guess a drop of water can be part of a mighty ocean, and a tiny candle flame is made of the same stuff as the sun. I am so looking forward to following your Advent.xxx
Thank you so much, Nikki! What beautiful images of how much it matters that we hold onto hope. Our little candles are made of the same stuff as the sun indeed, and the sun is Life.
Here's what we say at the end of bedtine prayers in our little wild church ~
“Somewhere on this planet in every moment a spark of the Firefly Resistance is bursting into flame. There is a light that never goes out. We can lay our burdens down for a while and rest…”
Someone is always lighting a flame, Nikki. We can be one of those people. We don't have to do it all.
A perfect post for the perfect time. I’d never heard of Commoner’s Advent or Celtic Advent and I’m so glad to find out about them - they really have the earthy scent of authenticity. So glad I found your writing.
Thank you so much, Sarah. Celtic Advent is something that more and more people seem to be marking. I love beginning Advent 40 days before Christmas but could never settle on a name for that. Commoners’ Advent was something that came to me this year and I must admit that its meaning grows by the day. I am so pleased to have you along with me.
Very, very beautiful, Jacqueline. I am looking forward to following Commoners Advent with you and finding the hope and resistance that we need so much xx
Jacqueline, this is wonderful in so many ways, not least the twin blessings of your wise and beautiful words in themselves, and the fact that you have started writing again. I am thrilled about that! In fact, amazingly, I was telling my special friend about you and your fabulous writing only the day before yesterday, saying how very sad I was that you weren’t able to share your medicine with the world at the moment. And then, up popped Radical Honey and Commoners Advent. Perfect synchronicity and magical indeed! I read to the end, enthralled, and can’t wait to see what unfolds on the journey towards the birth of the Star Child xxx
